Trace the exposure path
Inventory model providers behind direct accounts, gateways, embedded assistants and subcontractors. Distinguish the visible product name from its configured underlying model and data route.
Build a small evidence map from the initiating dependency to the identities, business data and operations it can reach. Include indirect consumers and scheduled work. An inventory entry describes a possible path; activity logs and other account evidence are needed to establish what happened on that path.
Collect the right evidence
- Request documented provider and subprocessor information from suppliers.
- Test approved-provider enforcement and blocked fallback routes.
- Record asset identifiers, artifact or configuration versions, permission scope, evidence dates and the owner of each unresolved question. Do not include secret values.
Control and repair
Route applicability and contractual questions to procurement and legal owners. Preserve configuration and usage evidence, then restrict prohibited routes where the responsible authority determines this is required.
Replace the relevant model or supplier path using representative tests for quality, permissions, data handling and cost. Update customer-facing descriptions and internal approved-tool records.
Prove the boundary
Demonstrate which model actually handles a request, which subprocessors receive data, and how routing and procurement controls prevent an unapproved fallback.
Use positive tests for the business function and negative tests for the access that should now be denied. Record which environment was tested and whether it represents production. Do not treat a successful login, clean homepage or healthy infrastructure graph as a substitute for an authorization or integrity test.
Engineering handoff
A deployment record with routing evidence, evaluation results and rollback constraints.
A tested inventory showing allowed models, routes, owners and exceptions.
Acceptance gate
Resume the affected workflow when the authorised policy owner accepts the implementation evidence and business testing shows the replacement is usable.
